Field trip information from Anita

Hi Everyone,

As we discussed in the project meeting this past week, Eric and I will be taking a trip to our study area along the McKenzie River so that we and Jessica can become better familiar with the area, and to make a first pass at collecting information that we need for our project responsibilities. 

Our objectives are to:

1) Familiarize ourselves with the “lay of the land”

2) Observe the types of agriculture that are found in that area

3) Explore the recreation opportunities and sites

4) Find a nice location to eat lunch

5) Explore the “local economics” including identifying services available to those who visit the area

Allow us to stress that this will be a very *informal and unstructured* day.  We will be paying for the trip out of a separate account (i.e., not paid for by the NIFA project).  Everyone will need to bring a lunch.  We will plan to leave Corvallis at 7:30-8:00 am, and return by 5:00-6:00 pm.  If any Eugene folks are interested, we can arrange a location to pick you up.
