The Economist’s World Oceans Summit will look at how ocean activity can be managed sustainably and includes panels on valuing marine ecosystem services. The summit will bring together over 200 global leaders from a variety of disciplines including government, business, international organisations, NGOs, think-tanks and academia.

Celebrating its 15^th Anniversary, this Conference was established as an independent conference to foster improved communication and education within this growing industry, and remains the only national conference that brings together key regulators, bankers, users and providers of services in the mitigation, conservation and ecosystem banking marketplace.  The Conference has proven to be “the” place to gain insights, explore new markets and learn from sessions. 

The Environmental Regulatory Research Group at the School of Law, University of Surrey; the Centre for Environmental Strategy in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of Surrey and the Environmental Law Program at The George Washington Law School will host an international interdisciplinary workshop on regulatory and institutional frameworks for markets for ecosystems services to be held at the School of Law, University of Surrey on 6-7 June 2012.
